it just looses its touch, it feels like it has gone past the point where it should have ended the setting was a good one but after the good storyline now its like non important they don't have anything at the time just random stories but who knows if they will make a new main story starting matt roth

Hellblazer

well all this series is about is John Cosntatine and how he deals with the supernatural and the occult, the series has had allot of stories and its very long but it is really worth it, its not your typical type of comic, in this comic you don't see the main character kicking ass and beating every demon that comes around with his fists or weapons, Constantine mostly deals with trickery and deceit.

The main character is probably what could be described as an antihero, he does morally incorrect things for the greater good, its an original kind of character who is a complete cynic, tricking angels into falling in love to fall from grace, selling hes soul to various demons so that a war would happen in hell if he would ever die, tricking Lucifer, surviving lunge cancer, you never really know what will happen next but the recurring thing is its not good to be with constantine since almost every friend he has or has had meets misery.

an example of the type of character he is in this one storyline he lets all hell break loose in a city and he doesn't mind its not affecting him the whole city is tearing itself apart and hes just watching not minding him but the reason he decides he should stop them is that he is running out of cigarettes and cant find any in the city so he decided to stop chaos so that he can find more cigarettes.

its too long a series to really explain has had countless storylines but its worth reading.

its still an ongoing series with like 240+ issues.

For those interested and havent seen yet, Watchmen character stills:

I have to say, Im not at all impressed. I'd say the characters look alright, hell they look at least somewhat like the original designs. But the problem I see besides the fact that this is coming from the guy who did 300 is that these character shots just completely seem to be going in the wrong direction. It basically looks like "300" and seems its going to be some sort of action-packed movie.

Neat recent article in NYTimes about the booming popularity of comics/graphics novels as an art form.

Excerpt -

Twenty-five years ago, a lot of creative downtown types looking for alternative credentials and low overhead costs became performance artists, setting up shop in cheap lofts in all-but-deserted neighborhoods (making a performance of one’s own sleep deprivation — also low-cost).

The 2008 version of that same crowd seems to be leaning toward an art that runs even less costly than any kind of theater, relying on only paper and a pen. When she’s not pulling espresso shots behind the counter of some Carroll Gardens cafe, that 24-year-old barista with the tasteful nose pierce is probably holed up at home working on her latest graphic novel, an art form that’s currently exploding, any enthusiast will tell you, and nowhere more than in New York.
