insightful comment about Portishead/trip-hop fans. Gibbons is going to sing me to sleep at night and yes 10 years between releases was worth it.
also excited about the Kaki King release...although watching the video I realized I'm fucking done with the gimmicky slow shutterspeed light technique that has been recently played out to the nth degree.
Some really interesting stuff. I've never heard of Kaki King, but I do enjoy that type of tap-guitar playing style which produces lush, polyphonic melodies. Wildbirds & Peacedrums is particularly interesting; they have a unique sound using minimal instrumentals and her singing style is quite different on it's own. Good stuff.

Nine Inch Nails "The Slip"
Its 100% free, really. None of this MP3 128 nonsense with an "optional" payment for a lossless format. This time Trent has seriously given away the album free of charge in any format you desire. Whats more, its not something like Saul William's "Niggy Tardust" or Trent's previous Ghosts, this for the most part, is an actual solid album.
Very listenable and by first impression, not bad at all. Reminds me of "The Fragile" and almost lets me forget about With Teeth to Year Zero. Get it below:
I remember someone mentioning Priscilla Ahn here somewhere....
Anyways, just saw that she made an appearance on the Take Away Shows so thought it may be of interest to some of you:

Okkervil River's new album The Stand-Ins is fucking fantastic, highly recommended. You can hear their single "Lost Coastlines off their site below:
Also, videos of both a live acoustic rendition of the same single as well as a version with A.C. Newman of the New Pornographers:

indeed, on a related note, Crooked Fingers is a fukken awesome band as well. Eric Bachmann is one of the vocalists I will never tire of hearing no matter how excessively I listen to his songs.
