Moar Plz! is a project that lets you request whatever walls you may fancy. The catch is - you have to wall someone else's request first before you can make your own request XD

Read more about it here!

To submit walls+requests, use this thread!

Okay, so you can't fulfill two requests with one wall, so you only earn one "request credit" per wall, so to speak. But are "request credits" transferable between IN, MT & AP, or is this effectively separate but exactly similar projects on the three sites?

Haha request credit... I like that :D Um so with transferable, for example, if you make a Nodame wall for the IN request, you can make your next request wherever you want?

That's a really interesting twist - I didn't really think about it before. I think I might regret overcomplicating this, but I'll go ahead and say yes, you can transfer them. You HAVE to make it really really clear though where you want your request to go though, or else this is going to become a nightmare for me to track ; D;

Quoting flyindreams:

No calling first dibs on requests. Whoever walls and submits the most current request first will get to make the next request.

So what happens say, if I was working on a request and someone else finished it first? What do I do with the WIP? Does it still count for anything?

Haha someone asked about this on MT too. I put that in maybe because I can't quite see it happening... If it happens let me know and I can tweak the ground rules a little bit. Let's see how this goes :D

I thought that's why you had a separate request for each of three sites in the first place.

Or to simplify, you could just unify the whole thing and open it up so that it is site-independent.

You seem to tend to be a bit pessimistic about the level of participation on these projects, flying... too pessimistic, imho -- had to introduce vote-offs for 100 themes, after all. So I daresay we can expect some changes to be needed for this too.

Statistically, if you have three current requests and only three people participate, making one wall each (at random), odds are 7 out of 9 that at least two of them are working on the same request. I can definitely see a collision of some sort happening, and soon. It'll be pretty sad to have a WIP not count!

I guess calling first dibs is still out of the question, since participation will be awfully limited; even if you set an expiry or time limit (i.e. you must complete the wall within 2 weeks of taking the request or it is re-opened to others) it still means that there are only 3 request credits circulating in the whole project at any time.

But it would be total chaos if you could keep submitting walls for requests that have already been fulfilled -- I don't think that was your intention, flyin; you'd want to leave the old requests behind and move on to new ones, obviously.

I have a suggestion:

- Allow participants to register their intent to work on a particular request, i.e. accept the request.

- List the people working on each request. Hopefully folks will avoid crowding after the same request.

- Once the request is fulfilled by someone finishing a wall for it, it is "closed" and no one else can accept it. However, those who have already accepted earlier it can continue with their WIPs and they would still count.

- Perhaps double the credit for the first wall to fulfill a request, just to make that more attractive.

- You'll need to keep track of each participant's total credits earned/remaining.

- Probably need to cap the number of accepts each person can have at any one time to 2 or 3, to control the growth of the project, somewhat.

- Similarly, possibly cap the number of current requests that anyone can make at any time.

This would allow the initial 3 requests to grow into more requests, which should be more interesting.

The main concern would then be unbridled growth leading to too many credits circulating in the project, and too many open requests floating around without people working on them. Or some old, difficult request being ignored due to availability of newer, more attractive ones.

Possible mitigating measures:

- Disallow people from dropping requests that they have accepted? Forces commitment, but may be a bit harsh. Perhaps allow dropping a request once it gets fulfilled by someone else.

- Inflation! Increasing the cost of requests gradually as needed so that >1 credit is needed to make a request will help keep project growth in check.

I apologize for the long post and for overcomplicating your nice little project. =Þ

Haha I appreciate the thoughtful suggests hamster. I'm still a bit skeptical just because I think we might've had a bit of a projects glut, people got lazy/busy, etc. 100T was definitely an outlier, there have been many other projects that died. Definitely don't want or hope that will happen here, but I'm adopting a "time will tell" approach for now   I liked your ideas especially the inflation one XD But yeah if it just happens a few times here and there, having it grow out is ok. I do want to keep it semi-site specific because now that ppl can move "credits" around, it provides some potentially interesting jumping opportunities.

I update page tonight when I get back after work :]

For clarification purposes when you say "based on," does that also include walls "inspired" by Sandman?
