Follows copypasta:

I wanted to recreate the halftone effect of the original scan, which seemed conceptually easy but turned out to be quite a pain...
It wasn't quite the usual vectoring. Instead of gradient fills, it had to be separate flat color fills behind with a grayscale gradient overlaid on that. Then the whole lot was moved from CorelDraw over to PhotoPaint. Usually this would be one simple copy-and-paste over... but doing that meant the halftone filter would do color halftone...stupid. So each gradient layer had to be copied to a grayscale image, halftoned in b/w, then copied again to the final color image with the fills and outlines.
Some other gripes about halftone filter causing alignment problems and other color issues, but well, nevermind those.
Anyhow, all this was deliberately done at a bigger size and then the whole thing was shrunk down so that the halftone spots weren't so big. This causes some aliasing which is a pretty neat effect, too. ^^
Um, yeah. Whatever. Black & white with a touch of red, rawr! And the Caterham Super 7 is one sexy car!
Enjoy.
